TEACH YOUR CHILDREN WELL …

Parents worry. It seems to go with the child-rearing territory. How can we do it right? How can we avoid making mistakes? Of course, there’s no such thing as a “perfect” parent. Our children probably need us to be less than “perfect” in order to become strong and independent people.  We only need to be good enough. However, here’s a useful hint. Avoid using the words “Don’t”, “Not” and “No”. Why? Because when you tell your child “Don’t slam the door” or “No fighting” think about what you are giving attention to in those examples – slamming the door and fighting. And, according to the Law of Attraction, when you give your attention to something, you will attract more of the same. So what you really want to do is to distract them from the behaviour which you consider to be negative and, instead, offer them positive alternatives such as “close the door gently” or “treat each other with respect”.

The Law of Attraction affects not just how we raise our children because it is at work in all aspects of our lives. In fact, it is what causes us to create our lives as they are. We are responsible for what ‘happens’ to us whether we are aware of it or not. When we are feeling positive, appreciative and grateful we are magnets for experiences that will enhance and empower us; and, by the same token, if we find ourselves complaining about what’s gone wrong - in our lives, at work, in our relationships – then we’re likely to attract more of what will cause us to complain further and be even more unhappy with our lot. That’s what the Law of Attraction is all about.

Our feelings are our guidance system. When we feel any kind of “bad” it’s like a warning light going on inside us in the form of a negative or uncomfortable feeling. Let’s call this experience of what we don’t like “contrast”. Contrast is very useful, because if we investigate it properly we can discover what we do want as opposed to the set of circumstances that we don’t like. So we get clear about out desires. For example, a complaint about a boss who bullies us uncovers the wish to work for someone who is more respectful and supportive. Now we can give our attention and focus to this new positive idea which allows us to feel better and, when we feel better, the Law of Attraction, in its own way, will orchestrate events and people to bring about this positive outcome.

When you realize the extent to which your thoughts and feelings determine your future, you can begin to use your thinking more deliberately to create the kind of life you want. You can be a creator as opposed to feeling that you’re a victim of circumstances. That’s a big change and one that can be achieved, given the proper training. Even more important, it’s a way of being happier right now.
